Graduate Externship

Student Responsibilities

Students accepted into the Project will be expected to:

  • Enroll in CJR 843 Advanced Criminal Law simultaneously with CRJ 844 Innocence Project Externship for a total of six (6) graduate credits.
  • Attend the orientation session and other classes.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Make a two semester commitment.
  • Devote at least 240 hours to their case, in addition to class and other meetings.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and time logs.
  • Complete all assignments on a timely basis.
  • Execute a confidentiality agreement and respect client disclosures.
  • Demonstrate substantial initiative.
  • Be able to travel within Kentucky and neighboring states to conduct interviews, collective evidence, etc. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
