John Brent, a recent graduate of the Criminal Justice Master's program, was awarded second place in an international research paper competition.

The competition is held annually by the American Society of Criminology's Division on Critical Criminology.

John's paper was part of his master's thesis entitled, "The Barbaric Spectacle of Late Modern Fighting."
