What Paramedics Do
Paramedics are the men and women who work under "standing orders and protocols" to bring the emergency room to the patient. We don't replace the Physician but we are his or her eyes, ears and hands until the patient reaches the hospital. We intubate....give medications..... shock hearts.... use the jaws of life, perform confined space rescue, manage disaster scenes and more.

Paramedics and EMTs are the front-line in the on-going efforts to improve the emergency health care delivery system in America. We here at Eastern are striving to remain at the forefront on this and other important EMS issues.
Specialized Certifications
As a part of our course work, we provide students with the opportunity to receive certifications in several specialty areas. These include:
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
  • Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS)
Each year we poll local and regional providers to ascertain what specialty training they would find desirable in a prospective employee.
Who We Are
Our program has 4 full-time faculty members. Each one has a great deal of experience in EMS and other areas of healthcare. The Program Director is Nancye Davis . Please visit our faculty & staff diectory for more information.
